“Recently I realized that we have all spent way too much time believing that there is something wrong with us. What if we gave that up, then what?”

- Terces Engelhart

I found myself wondering as we drove down Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles, how many messages have we listened to that leave us feeling less than? As the giant billboards flickered bright lights and perfectly put together famous people promised something we currently didn’t have, I reflected on how much of our energy is battling some version of a “less than” message, rather than being up to create from just how miraculously we are each designed.

So as my husband and I close out our sixteen-year mission on Be Love Farm in California and head up to the great northwest in Idaho, I find myself stepping into an idea planted a few months back...

I was sitting in a circle of women, all of them much younger than I, listening as they shared their stories when I felt my heart fill with the wonder and miracle of just who each one of those women was, and yet their stories reflected the inner battle that was in their way of fulfilling on their passions, their well being, their dreams. I found myself sharing how I saw them, how beautiful, patient, kind, and passionate they were. I realized that I was seeing them as I believe God sees them, as who they were created to be.

Afterward, the women shared what a powerful impact my words had on them and encouraged me to find a way to continue to reflect my vision, as an elder, onto others. I suppose it is similar to having a mirror that, rather than showing you your faults or weaknesses, what is wonderful and amazing is reflected.

"Terces has an other worldly ability to tap into what rooms and spaces and most importantly, the humans in those spaces need to hear and experience. She speaks divine truth with love and compassion- seeing the true best in those around her when they can't see it themselves. A mother to us all- Terces is the real deal. Her mark will be felt for generations to come."

Unreasonably Grateful; living in grace by choice

Ever since my journey brought me to freedom, I’ve known I would write this book, it was just a matter of when. I suspect anytime one of us gets free we want to set others free as well, freedom is like that, it is meant to be shared with the world. The abuse I kept a secret for twenty years was my trap and only in my becoming transparent was I able to experience the freedom that awaited me.

I had to get beyond thinking I could free someone else and instead simply share my journey and trust that there are those who are ready to hear, and some ready to act. You know who you are.

There is a small quiet and powerful voice in each of us, live to hear it. That is a different life than the one which drowns out that eternal wisdom. Seek stillness, you will actually accomplish much more than you imagine. Learn to listen, it is one of the most loving acts you can do and it requires very little action. It is much more difficult to do nothing than we might think. If you find yourself fixing or changing others it’s a good indication that there is work for you to do within yourself.
